SCOUT - Surface Craft for Oceanographic and Undersea Testing

SCOUT evolved out of a need for an affordable, yet highly capable unmanned surface craft capable of working collaboratively with UUVs (Unmanned Undersea Vehicles) operating in open ocean conditions. What started out as a “quick and easy” solution turned out to be a popular platform for a number of additional applications spanning DoD, Research, and Academic interests. SCOUT vehicles were deployed in a number of locations worldwide, proving themselves cost-effective alternatives to other high value assets with similar performance capabilities.

Some proven uses of the SCOUT vehicle include; Undersea Mobile Asset Tracking and Navigation Assistance, Data Telemetry above and below water, Satellite Communications Platform, Mobile Weather Buoy, Sea Floor mapping, and more.
